June has arrived with quite bit of rain, but that hasn’t slowed down the golfers or guests enjoying everything the Columbia Valley has to offer.

There are a variety of events taking place over the next few weeks for you to enjoy.The Fairmont & District Lions Club hosts they Coy’s Fun Day of Golf on Saturday June 16th. Entry is only $30, including everything with proceeds going to the Lions. Pick up your tickets at Coys. The 16th is also the National Aboriginal Day Annual Celebration at Lakeshore Resort and Campground on Hwy 93/95 just south of Windermere from 11am-7pm. Between now and June 17th, Pynelogs is displaying their annual “Open Themed” art show. Stop in and witness the creative exploits of many of our local artists in a variety of mediums and styles.

A variety of the golf courses in the valley are also offering specials for father’s day so grab your dad and head out for a round of golf.

The Columbia Valley Relay for Life is coming up on Saturday June 16th; beginning at 3pm. Participants walk the David Thompson Secondary School track through the afternoon, evening and night (or so) to raise money and awareness for cancer research. There are plenty of fun activities and entertainment including opening ceremonies, survivors lap, head shaves, food, live music, inflatable’s and more. Cancer affects nearly everyone so any little way we can help to support this cause is great.
