The white way is named the longest white way world by the Guinness book of World Records! This multi-use trail offers over 30 kilometres of groomed skating, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. My personal favorite thing to do in the winter is grab my skates on a blue bird day and skate along the Windermere loop!
Whether you are an experience skier or not, Panorama offers 10 lifts with over 130 trails for all skill levels! It is a must to go relax at the summit hut while enjoying your lunch with a view of 1000 peaks!
TOBY CREEK ADVENTURES
If you are looking for a good way to spend the day, I suggest booking either a full or half day snowmobiling with Toby Creek Adventures. These tours take you up the mountain to enjoy 360 degree views at the paradise mine with a hot beverage!
The snowflake festival returns to the Columbia Valley on January 17th. It is an evening event that offers skating on the lake, live music, bonfires, fireworks and much more. You can also purchase a passport book to receive delicious food samples from local participating restaurants. An event to not be missed if you are in the valley!
BONSPIEL ON THE LAKE
The snowflake festival and the Bonspiel on the lake tournament takes place this year on from January 18-20th. Even if you do not curl yourself, you can also enjoy a hot chocolate and take a walk on the lake to cheer on the participating teams!
COLUMBIA VALLEY ROCKIES POND HOCKEY TOURNAMENT
This tournament is hosted on January 24 – 26th. Teams travel from all over BC and Alberta to partake in the events on this weekend. This is the event that I look forward to as soon as it’s over! Nothing more Canadian than a good old game of shinny on a winter day!
COLUMBIA VALLEY ROCKIES HOCKEY GAMES

Get your tackle boxes ready for the Kinsmen Clubs 20th annual Fishing Derby! The derby is hosted on January 25th. There is cash prizes up to $500 to be won for whoever lands the biggest catch-of-the-day. Every one of all ages are invited to participate in this family fun event!
