At Bighorn Meadows Resort, we are proud to be doing our part in the global movement against climate change. The Environmental Fees True Key Hotels & Resorts collects from our rental guests contribute to the sustainability and preservation of the natural environment surrounding our resorts. These fees help offset the costs of various eco-friendly initiatives and regulatory expenses, including but not limited to recycling programs, bulk bath amenities, provincial carbon taxes, environmentally safe chemicals, high-efficiency laundry equipment, electric golf carts, collection of returnable beverage containers, printed guest orientation materials, energy-efficient office equipment and appliances, employee training, energy consumption monitoring, and other environmental conservation efforts.
Here are some green initiatives the Resort has already implemented:
- Environmentally sensitive cleaning products
- Low-flow toilets, sinks and showers
- Bulk environmentally friendly bathroom amenities
- Work place waste reduction (double sided printing, recycled paper, etc.)
- Focus on e-marketing and providing e-copies of promotional materials
- Recycling program which donates all bottles and cans to the Village of Radium Hot Springs for their annual New Years fireworks display
